By a fixed monthly formula over the live directory: Google rating weighted by review depth (so a handful of perfect reviews cannot outrank hundreds of consistent ones), with real aggregated diner engagement on Halal Food Pass as a bounded tiebreaker once it has enough evidence. Review volume is credited only up to a few hundred reviews, beyond that, extra volume adds no advantage, so farming reviews cannot outrank genuinely higher-rated food. The exact weights are proprietary; the inputs are not.

Can a restaurant pay to be on this list?

No. Featured placement and commercial participation have zero influence on Best rankings, ever. The ranking code does not read either field.

How often does this list update?

Monthly. This is the October 2026 edition. Rankings are calculated on the first visit of each month. Qualifying restaurants retain their relative order for that edition. If a restaurant closes, moves outside the area or becomes ineligible during the month, it may be removed and replaced by the next qualifying restaurant.
