Terms of Service
Last updated 10 July 2026 · These terms govern your use of halalfoodpass.ca and the Halal Food Pass apps.
1. The service
Halal Food Pass is operated by RULE8 inc (Ontario, Canada) — "we", "us" and "Halal Food Pass" in these terms mean RULE8 inc. Halal Food Pass is a paid membership that gives you access to member offers at participating restaurants. You show your digital pass (the "Lime Card") before you pay and the restaurant applies its offer. We are a discovery and membership service — we are not a Halal certifier (Halal information is provided by each restaurant), not a delivery service, and we don't charge restaurants commission on your meal.
2. Your account & pass
You sign in with one-time email codes; keep access to your email secure. Your membership and pass are personal and non-transferable — one member, one pass. The pass shows a rotating verification code issued only while your membership is valid; copying, screenshotting, altering or lending your pass (or presenting one that isn't yours) is a breach of these terms and may lead to suspension without refund.
3. Price, trial & billing
The current membership price is shown at checkout and on our pricing page; the price you sign up at is locked to your membership. New members get a 30-day free trial; a card is required to start and the trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel first. Trials are limited to one per person and one per payment card — a card that has already received a trial starts as a paid membership. Rejoining after a cancelled or ended membership is billed immediately, without a new trial.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel anytime in the app. Cancelling during a free trial ends your access immediately. Cancelling a paid plan takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then and are not charged again. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.
5. Offers & redemptions
Offers are set by each restaurant, can change or pause at any time, and apply only during the days, hours and conditions the restaurant sets (for example dine-in only, or a minimum spend). Availability shown in the app is computed live; the restaurant's till validation is final. Unless a specific offer states otherwise, one active Lime Card covers one bill for a maximum of six (6) people per visit. Offers can't be combined with other promotions unless the restaurant says otherwise, have no cash value, and abuse (including repeated self-reported redemptions that didn't happen) may lead to suspension.
6. Referrals
Members get a personal referral link. A friend who joins through it gets the standard first month free, like every new member. When that friend makes their first real payment, one free month (30 days) is added on top of whatever time is left on your membership — each qualifying friend adds another month, up to a lifetime maximum of 12 earned months per account (further referrals earn nothing once the cap is reached). Self-referrals, duplicate accounts and card-sharing don't qualify; we may withhold or reverse credits obtained through abuse. Complimentary accounts can share the service but don't earn credits.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no fake accounts, no scraping or bulk extraction of listings, no interfering with verification, no harassment of restaurant staff, and no unlawful use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms; you may delete your account at any time.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee any particular restaurant, offer or saving will be available at a given time, and we are not responsible for the food, service or Halal status of any restaurant. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the membership fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Ontario consumer-protection legislation.
9. Changes, law & contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, emailed to members, and continued use after the effective date means you accept them.
