How Halal information
works here.
Exactly what we check, what restaurants declare themselves, what our labels mean — and how to tell us when something is wrong.
The one rule everything follows
Halal Food Pass is not a Halal certification authority. We are a dining membership. Every Halal claim on a restaurant page is provided by that restaurant — we display it as given, with its source, and we never upgrade, soften or invent it.
What we verify — and what we don't
We do confirm directly with each restaurant before its listing goes live: its identity and location, that it agreed to be listed, its member offer (discount, days, hours, minimum spend, dine-in/takeout), and the Halal statement it wants shown. Restaurant pages show two real dates: "Details confirmed with the restaurant" (when our team last verified the listing with the restaurant) and "Information last updated" (when the listing data last changed). These are database timestamps — never a page-render date.
We do not inspect kitchens, audit suppliers, review slaughter methods, or adjudicate between schools of thought. Where a restaurant tells us it holds a certificate, we can note that on its page as its own statement; unless the page explicitly says otherwise, certificates are not independently inspected by us.
What our labels mean
"Halal" on a listing means the restaurant has told us its food is Halal. "Halal status: provided by [restaurant]" means exactly that — the claim is theirs. We do not currently use separate "fully halal", "halal options" or "Muslim-owned" badges; if a distinction matters to you (whole menu vs selected items, shared fryers or kitchens, alcohol on the premises, hand-slaughtered vs machine, specific certifiers), please confirm directly with the restaurant before you order — its phone number and website are on its page.
Participation is a separate question
Being listed here never by itself means a restaurant accepts the Lime Card. Each page states it plainly: a current member offer with its schedule, or "No offer available right now", or "Not currently accepting the Lime Card". A Halal restaurant can be listed for discovery without participating in the membership.
How often information is reconfirmed
Offer changes made by a restaurant or our staff appear on the site immediately — pages are rendered from the live database on every visit, and offer status (active now, starts later, not active today) is computed in the restaurant's own timezone every time the page loads. Listing details are re-verified when a restaurant updates them, when our team edits a listing (which refreshes the confirmed date), and when visitors report a problem.
Report something wrong
If a Halal claim, discount, schedule, address or anything else on a listing looks wrong — or a restaurant won't honour an offer — report it here and a human will check it with the restaurant. Restaurant owners can correct their own listings any time through the partner portal. Valid reports get the listing corrected or taken down; a declined valid offer is made good with a free month of membership.
