Ridgeway Plaza Restaurant Inspections: How to Check Peel Public Health Results

How do you check a Ridgeway Plaza restaurant's inspection results?

Search Peel's inspection portal by the restaurant's name or by its street address, switch to the Table view, and open the row whose site address matches the unit. Halal Food Pass ran the steps below on September 15, 2026; the labels are the portal's own.

1. Open Peel Region's Health inspections page and follow its Inspection results link, or go straight to the Peel Health Inspections portal. The portal sits at a separate address, rmop.hedgerowsoftware.com; its header reads “Peel Health Inspections: your portal for health inspection results in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.”
2. Read the Disclaimer and choose Accept. The disclaimer states that past results describe the establishment on the date of inspection only, and that the Region does not guarantee that every record is complete or free from error. You will see it again if you arrive by a direct link.
3. Stay on the Food tab (the portal also covers personal service settings, child care, pools and other settings). In the Search Facilities box, which is labelled “Name, Address, or Facility Type”, type the restaurant name or its address and press Go.
4. Switch from Map to Table. The table lists Facility Name, Site Address, Facility Type, Last Inspection Date and Inspection Result, with the result shown as a green, yellow or red symbol labelled Pass, Conditional Pass or Closed. Results come 25 to a page; a Sort by menu offers Best Match, Facility Name, Facility Type, Most Recently Inspected, Least Recently Inspected, Highest Hazard Rating and Lowest Hazard Rating, and two drop-downs filter by facility type and by inspection result.
5. Click the row whose site address matches. The facility page shows the site address, community, facility type and current inspection result, then an Inspections On File table listing each inspection date, its inspection type (for example Required, Re-inspection or Complaint) and its result, above a map.
6. Click an inspection date to open that visit. The inspection page repeats the date, type and result, then lists the inspection questions that were marked Not In Compliance under headings such as Food Safety. A visit with nothing outstanding reads Satisfactory with no infractions outstanding.

Address searches work well for Ridgeway because the plaza's units share a handful of street numbers. On September 15, 2026, searching “4700 Ridgeway Dr” returned eight food premises at that address and “3465 Platinum Dr” returned four. Searching “Ridgeway Dr” alone returned two pages that also included premises on the 3000 and 3600 blocks of Ridgeway Drive, which are not part of the plaza. Spelling matters: a one-letter misspelling of Monasaba returned No Results Found, so if a name search fails, search the address.

What do Pass, Conditional Pass and Closed mean?

Peel Public Health uses three inspection results. Pass means substantial compliance with the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Conditional Pass means significant non-compliance that may affect food safety, and Closed means conditions that are an immediate health hazard. Those are the definitions printed on the notice itself; the portal's FAQ and glossary add what happens next.

A Pass is not a clean sheet by definition. The portal glossary describes Pass as following the applicable laws and regulations, while the printed notice says substantial compliance, and an individual inspection record can carry a Pass alongside questions marked Not In Compliance. The glossary separates significant risk infractions, which may cause foodborne illness if not corrected and can often be corrected during the inspection, from critical risk infractions, which present an immediate hazard and require a re-inspection, and non-critical infractions, which are not a health hazard and are usually checked at the next scheduled visit.

The results rest on two pieces of law. Section 6 of Ontario Regulation 493/17, the Food Premises regulation, requires every operator to post the results of an inspection as the inspector requests. Peel's Food Safety Disclosure By-law 59-2005 requires the most recently issued Peel Health Inspection Summary to be posted at the public entrance, or near the pick-up window where there is no public entrance. That is why the green, yellow or red notice is on the door.

How do you identify the correct restaurant and branch?

Match the site address and unit number on the record to the door you are checking, because the portal lists each location separately and restaurant names repeat. A name search for Monasaba on September 15, 2026 returned two records: one at 100-3465 Platinum Dr, which is the Ridgeway Plaza location, and one at 11-2273 Dundas St W, a different Mississauga branch with its own inspection history. Only the Platinum Drive record describes the restaurant at the plaza.

Ridgeway's addresses are the 4700 block of Ridgeway Drive, 3465 Platinum Drive and the neighbouring Platinum, Odyssey and Eglinton Avenue West addresses, with a unit number in front of the street number (68-4700 Ridgeway Dr, for example). If the unit on the record does not match the unit on the door, keep looking. Postal codes on the portal can differ between units of the same building, so use the unit and street number rather than the postal code to confirm a match.

Facility type matters too. A takeout counter can be filed as Food Take Out rather than Restaurant, and a dessert or coffee shop can sit under either. If a name search comes back empty, search the street address and read every row at that number. Each Ridgeway Plaza listing on Halal Food Pass shows the street address and unit we hold for that restaurant, which is the address to search.

What do the notices at Monasaba and Palau Kabab show?

Both restaurants displayed a green Pass notice on September 15, 2026, and both notices matched the inspection record on Peel's portal when we checked the same day. The table separates the three dates that matter: the inspection date printed on the notice, the date we photographed it, and the date we read the online record.

Monasaba, 100-3465 Platinum Drive

The notice photographed by Halal Food Pass on September 15, 2026, lists an inspection date of September 3, 2026, and a previous inspection on December 23, 2025. The portal record read the same day shows the same two visits, both typed Required and both a Pass, and no later inspection, so the notice on the door was the most recent result on file that day. The September 3, 2026 inspection page lists three questions marked Not In Compliance: keeping potentially hazardous food out of the temperature danger zone with adequate refrigeration or hot-holding, which the portal flags as a significant risk item; providing a properly constructed mechanical dishwasher or one approved for commercial use; and protecting the premises against pests and keeping pest-control records. The overall result was still a Pass. The December 23, 2025 page reads Satisfactory with no infractions outstanding.

Palau Kabab, 68-4700 Ridgeway Drive

The notice photographed by Halal Food Pass on September 15, 2026, lists an inspection date of May 19, 2026, with the previous-inspection box marked N/A. The portal record read the same day holds one inspection, dated May 19, 2026, typed Required, result Pass, and nothing later, so the posted notice was also the most recent result on file that day. The inspection page lists two questions marked Not In Compliance: providing and using accurate, easy-to-read thermometers, and collecting and removing garbage and waste to keep the premises clean and sanitary. A single inspection on file is consistent with a newer premises, but it does not tell you when the restaurant opened: the portal posts two years of history, and an inspection date is not an opening date.

Two notices are two data points. They are not a survey of the plaza's restaurants, they say nothing about neighbouring units, and they describe the days on which the inspector visited. We chose them because they were the notices we photographed on one visit, not because we ranked these restaurants above others. Both are participating restaurants on Halal Food Pass; that relationship is disclosed in the research notes below and played no part in what the records say.

What if the window notice and online record have different dates?

Trust the online record for the current position and treat the difference as a reason to read it, not as proof of anything on its own. The by-law requires the most recently issued summary to be posted, so a newer inspection date online usually means an inspection happened after the sign was printed and a replacement sign is due or has not yet gone up. An older date online than on the sign can mean the portal has not yet updated. Neither situation, by itself, establishes wrongdoing.

When the dates differ, note both, open the newer inspection on the portal, and read its result and any items listed. If the newest online result is a Conditional Pass or Closed, the portal's FAQ says a follow-up inspection happens within a few days for a Conditional Pass and that a closed premises reopens only after re-inspection, so check the Inspections On File table for the later visit before drawing a conclusion. A previously adverse result should always be read alongside the inspections that followed it.

In the two Ridgeway cases above, the dates matched: the inspection date on each notice was also the latest inspection on the portal on the day we checked. A reader visiting later should expect newer inspections to appear, which is why this guide records its check date rather than describing either restaurant as currently anything.

Does a public health inspection confirm halal status?

No. A Peel Public Health inspection checks compliance with the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, which covers food handling, temperatures, sanitation, pests and similar requirements. It does not examine whether meat is halal, who certifies it, or how it was slaughtered. A green Pass and a halal claim answer different questions and come from different sources.

Halal information on Halal Food Pass comes from each restaurant and, where one exists, its certifier, and every listing says where its information came from and when it was last updated. Monasaba's listing records an ISNA Canada certificate number alongside the restaurant's confirmation; Palau Kabab's records the restaurant's own confirmation. Halal Food Pass does not certify halal. The two checks belong together in practice. Before a visit, read the restaurant's halal evidence on its listing, then read its inspection record on the portal. What should you do if you cannot find a restaurant?

Search the address instead of the name, check the other facility types, and if the premises still does not appear, contact Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700. A missing result does not mean a restaurant is uninspected or unsafe: Peel's own FAQ says that for various reasons inspection results may not be available or may not be posted on the website, and its disclaimer asks anyone who knows of a premises that is not listed to call.

Common reasons a search fails are a spelling that differs from the licensed name, a trading name that differs from the name on file, a record filed under Food Take Out or another type rather than Restaurant, and a very recent opening. The Search Facilities box accepts a street address, so “4700 Ridgeway Dr” or “3465 Platinum Dr” will list every food premises the portal holds at that number. The portal also posts only the last two years of history, so an older inspection will not appear online; Peel says to contact Public Health for anything further.

Everything on this page was checked on September 15, 2026: the two notices were photographed at the plaza that day, the portal walkthrough was run step by step in a browser, and both restaurants' records were opened and read. Peel Public Health is the source of every inspection finding and definition; Halal Food Pass is the source of the photographs, the dated observations and the tested walkthrough.

What we did: read Peel Region's Health inspections and Food safety pages and followed the official Inspection results link; accepted the portal disclaimer and read the FAQ, Glossary and Contact pages; ran name searches for Monasaba, Palau Kabab and a deliberate misspelling, and address searches for 4700 Ridgeway Dr, 3465 Platinum Dr and Ridgeway Dr; opened each facility record and each inspection page and transcribed the dates, types, results and the questions marked Not In Compliance; confirmed that a direct link to a record shows the disclaimer first and then returns to the record; read section 6 of Ontario Regulation 493/17 and Peel's Food Safety Disclosure By-law 59-2005 for the posting requirement; and compared the photographs with the records for spelling, dates, addresses and unit numbers.

What we did not do: we did not inspect either kitchen, speak to the inspectors, or see any document beyond the posted notices and the public portal. We did not check any other Ridgeway premises for this guide, and we have not reproduced Peel's full question list. Two of the three Monasaba photographs showed the same notice; the clearer one is used.

Disclosure: Monasaba and Palau Kabab are both participating restaurants on Halal Food Pass, and their listings show member offers. They are on this page because we photographed their notices on the same visit, not because of that relationship, and the relationship had no bearing on what the public records contain. This guide does not describe either restaurant as safer, cleaner or better than any other, and Peel Region has not reviewed or endorsed it.
