Choosing between Halal Food Pass and coupon apps
Choose a restaurant savings service by the offers you will actually use. Halal Food Pass has a free directory and an optional Lime Card for participating member offers. This guide explains how to compare it with a particular coupon service, including fees, restaurant choice, restrictions and the cost of your usual meals. Check current terms before paying for either.

How coupon and deal services differ
Some services use codes, others vouchers or in-app offers. Their fees, expiry rules, order channels and restaurant coverage vary. Compare a named service and the specific offer you want; it would be misleading to say all coupon apps work the same way or always cost nothing.
How Halal Food Pass works
You can browse the restaurant directory without buying a membership. The optional Lime Card is for member offers at participating restaurants. Show your live card before paying and follow the restaurant’s conditions. A listing without a member offer does not become discounted when you join.
Use the current offer list and pricing page to check the available venues, membership cost and trial terms. Halal information remains a separate check: HFP is not a halal certifier.
Compare the offer you would actually use
| Question | Coupon or deal service | HFP Lime Card |
|---|---|---|
| Which restaurants? | Check the named offer and branch. | Participating restaurants with an eligible live member offer. |
| How is it used? | Follow that service’s code, voucher or in-app instructions. | Show the live card before paying; confirm eligibility before ordering. |
| What does it cost? | Check service fees, purchase requirements and any subscription. | Optional membership; current plans and trial terms are on the pricing page. |
| When does it apply? | Check expiry, minimum spend and eligible order types. | Check the restaurant’s days, hours, eligible items and other conditions. |
| Can I combine offers? | Read the specific promotion’s stacking rules. | Follow the participating restaurant’s offer rules. |
Which should you choose?
List the restaurants you expect to visit during the paid period. Count only offers that cover those branches and your likely orders. Estimate the saving on eligible food, then subtract the service cost and any additional travel or order fees. Do not count a meal you would buy only to use a discount as an automatic saving.
If no nearby offer fits, use the free directory and compare ordinary menu prices. A membership can be useful when eligible savings exceed its cost, but it does not pay for itself for every person or every meal. Our meal-budget guide shows the calculation.
