We read Domino's Canada's national nutrition guide, sitemap and robots file, its store locator data for Mississauga and Brampton, seven individual store pages across Mississauga and Oakville, and the live menu data for six stores chosen in areas with large Muslim populations. We checked the register of the Halal Monitoring Authority (HMA) Canada.
What we could not check
Domino's Canada's FAQ is closed to our tools in both languages, and that is exactly where a halal answer would live. The ISNA Canada certifier register would not open. We could not check store-level business listings, which is where a franchisee offering halal toppings would most likely say so. Store menus appear centrally templated, which reduces but does not eliminate the chance of franchise-level variation.
We have drafted a written enquiry to Domino's Pizza Canada asking whether any Canadian menu items are halal-certified, whether that is consistent nationally, and which certifier is involved. When they answer, their answer replaces this section and the date changes.
