Nando's in the United Kingdom does publish a halal page — and it says its restaurants are not halal, with some UK restaurants serving halal chicken. None of that applies to Canada.

We read Nando's Canada's homepage, menu, about, careers and privacy pages, its sitemap and robots file, and four individual Canadian restaurant pages including Mississauga and Brampton. We checked the register of the Halal Monitoring Authority (HMA) Canada; Nando's does not appear on it.
What we could not check
Nando's Canada's location directory, help and contact pages did not render for us, and its Canadian ordering site — the likeliest home of allergen and ingredient documents — was closed to our tools. We were unable to check location-level evidence at all, so a single Canadian restaurant advertising halal is not ruled out.
We have drafted a written enquiry to Nando's Canada asking whether any Canadian menu items are halal-certified, whether that is consistent nationally, and which certifier is involved. When they answer, their answer replaces this section and the date changes.

Where a chain says its food is not halal certified, that is what we print. Certification is a paid third-party audit, and its absence is not the same as a statement about how animals were slaughtered. We do not stretch one into the other.
