Food World Plus Opens in Mississauga With a Separate Halal Section

Food World Plus is now open in Mississauga, adding a new grocery stop for shoppers looking for halal meat and international ingredients. The store is at 50 Matheson Boulevard East, near Hurontario Street, and confirms that it has a separate halal food section.
The company announced an October 30, 2026 opening in its official news release. Its website now says the store is open. Food World Plus describes the supermarket as a 176,000-square-foot destination combining groceries, fresh-food departments and prepared meals.
What is in the halal section?
The store's Halal Meat & Foods page lists beef, lamb, goat and chicken, with cuts prepared to order. It also advertises marinated meats, kebab mixes, frozen halal foods, deli meats and a prepared-food case with curries, rice and wraps.
Food World Plus describes its meat counter as certified halal and says a certificate is available at the counter. Shoppers can ask the team which certification covers a particular product and how it is prepared.
The halal offering is a designated section within a broader supermarket. Check individual products and food counters rather than assuming that everything sold in the store falls under the same halal claim.
Groceries from several food traditions
Beyond the halal section, the opening announcement describes international groceries from Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, East Asia and South Asia, alongside produce, seafood, bakery items and prepared foods.
For shoppers cooking at home, the appeal is being able to combine a meat-counter visit with a wider grocery run. The company's website also lists a weekly flyer for current offers.
