Iqbal Foods has announced an October 15, 2026 opening in Oakville, with a ribbon-cutting scheduled for 10 a.m. at 125 Cross Avenue, Unit C2. For halal restaurants and caterers in the area, the new grocery store could offer another nearby place to source meat, produce and pantry staples.
The company confirmed the date in its October 7 Instagram announcement, describing Oakville as its seventh GTA store. The opening is still ahead at the time of publication.
Iqbal says the opening celebration will include special offers and activities. Check the company's official Instagram account for the opening flyer and any changes before travelling. The announced ceremony time should not be read as the store's regular opening hours.
A nearby grocery supplier can be useful when a kitchen needs extra ingredients between its usual deliveries, or when a caterer is buying for a smaller event. That is the practical appeal of the Oakville opening: another local purchasing option for operators who need halal ingredients.
On its official company website, Iqbal describes a range that includes halal meat, produce, dairy, frozen food, basmati rice and spices, with a focus on South Asian and Middle Eastern groceries. It also says it operates supermarkets and distribution centres across the GTA.
Those categories make it relevant to kitchens preparing dishes such as biryani, curries and grilled-meat meals. Individual brands, cuts, pack sizes and availability at the new branch will need to be checked with the store.
The announcement is for a grocery-store opening. It does not confirm an Oakville wholesale programme, restaurant accounts, trade pricing or commercial delivery service.
Restaurants considering Iqbal as a regular supplier should ask about case quantities, advance meat orders, invoices and reliable stock before building it into their purchasing schedule. An occasional ingredient top-up and a standing supply agreement are different commitments.
Iqbal states that its meat is HMA-certified. Restaurant buyers should still check the documentation and labels covering their particular products and suppliers. Buying certified meat does not, by itself, certify the restaurant's whole kitchen or menu. Our guide to supplier and restaurant halal certificates explains the distinction.
