Helvaci Ali is a Turkish dessert cafe built on helva: warm semolina and tahini helva scooped over cold ice cream, in flavours running from walnut and pistachio to Lotus Biscoff, caramel and Dubai chocolate. Beside it sit trilece in caramel, raspberry and Biscoff, cheesecakes, kunafa and Turkish cakes, with Turkish coffee, Turkish tea, Spanish lattes and matcha from the drinks counter. The Turkish house behind the name dates to 1900 and now trades in more than twenty countries; the Mississauga branch sits in Ridgeway Plaza and stays open late.
