Is Burger King halal in Canada?

Burger King Canada has not said so anywhere we could find, and nothing we found says it is. The chain and its parent have published no halal statement for Canada; its Canadian restaurant menus on the delivery platforms list smoked bacon items with no halal tag; and no Canadian certifier register or halal directory lists a Burger King. Halal Food Pass does not certify halal, so ask the restaurant before you order.

No. We searched RBI's ingredient and sustainability pages, its Canadian press releases, its fiscal 2024 annual report, the Burger King Canada Facebook page and indexed X accounts, and the Canadian press. None carries a halal, kosher or sourcing statement for Canada.

Yes. The chain's Canadian restaurant menus, as republished on SkipTheDishes, Uber Eats and DoorDash for Mississauga, Ottawa and Montreal restaurants, describe the Whopper with Bacon and Cheese, the Bacon King and the Bacon Cheeseburger with thick-cut smoked bacon. Bacon on Burger King menus is pork wherever the chain publishes ingredients.

Not on any register or directory we read on 1 October 2026: the Halal Monitoring Authority's certified-restaurant register, ISNA Halal's restaurant directory and Zabihah all list none. Absence from a register is not proof that no restaurant is halal, but no Canadian Burger King has claimed it either.

No. Those certificates belong to other franchisees under other national authorities (the Halal Accreditation Council in Sri Lanka, MUIS in Singapore). The Canadian restaurants are run by Canadian franchisees who buy from Canadian suppliers, and none has published a certificate.

On the delivery platforms, which republish the chain's own item descriptions for named restaurants. burgerking.ca serves its ordering app and does not give our tools readable pages, so the SkipTheDishes, Uber Eats and DoorDash listings are the Canadian menu text we could read in full.

On 1 October 2026, with a second search of social accounts, press, delivery platforms, directories and registers the same day. The next scheduled review is 31 October 2026; if Burger King Canada publishes a halal statement before then, this page will be updated to report it as the chain's word.

What we could not check: No statement by Burger King Canada has been seen either way. The parent's documents are corporate and partly US-framed; the restaurant count is the chain's 2019 figure; platform menus are copies for named restaurants and change without notice. The Canadian Facebook page, X replies, TikTok videos and Reddit threads could not be opened by our tools, so a halal question answered there would not be on this page yet.
